THE TEAM THAT BIKES TO WORK TOGETHER…

by

Last week the IPG’ers rode to work and then all headed out on bike for an early lunch at Park Café.  At IPG we are serious about helping our clients with their commercial real estate in Utah, but will also have a lot of fun together too!

What could be better on a late Summer day than a bike ride with friends and a great brunch???  The 1 day fuel savings probably covered half of the meal!  We hope you all are getting out and doing what you love to do.  Maybe we will run in to you on roller skates sometime soon!

STRESSING THE ELECTION?

by

If you are like many of our clients, who own commercial real estate in Utah, then you may be having the same types of conversations that they have with us.

Our clients are mostly concerned about the anemic financial recovery, the overwhelming deficit, welfare benefits, and tax increases. All of these issues have certainly restricted most business decision makers confidence, and impeded progress and growth.

Even so, here in Utah things are still looking pretty rosy, and conditions seem to be improving all around us as well.  In a straw poll with a few of the top general contractors in the region, business is picking up, and backlogs of work are on the increase.  Home builders are seeing increased activity as well.  So long as interest rates stay as low as they are, more first time buyers and buyers looking to upgrade will have the needed purchasing power to make a move. A great sign to us is that developers are actually buying land again!

At IPG Commercial Real Estate, our goal is to help de-stress important decisions related to your commercial/industrial property.  Give us a call at (801) 746-7295, whether you want to talk about the election or an upcoming commercial real estate need.  We will do our best to bring you some good news for a change!

MAKE TIME TO RIDE!

Ever wonder how your favorite product got in that hard to open plastic container? If that protective plastic in the unusual shape makes you scratch your head a little give Jim Holbrook at Premier Plastics a call. Jim and his thermoform team have over 90 years of experience in custom packaging solutions for clients large and small. If you are already doing business with Jim, make a note of his new address, we just helped him move into his new nearly 30,000 square foot facility at 2370 S 3600 West.

And when Jim Holbrook isn’t creating custom packing or buying commercial real estate in Utah, he is riding his Harley. Check it out on this new IPG client highlight video

TAXES AND CAPITAL GAINS

by

There is a lot of talk about what will happen with tax rates come January 2013 and in the absence of new legislation taxes are going UP. Capital gains on commercial real estate assets is slated to increase from 15% to 20% and will be subject to an additional 3.8% Medicare contribution tax. Additionally, income taxes will increase all across the board.

As we look at the future of tax rates in the USA its also interesting to take a look at the tax rate past. The image below was posted by Jeremy Cyrier with Mansard in Wakefield, MA.
